at the coast, low to mid 60s for the rest of us. >>> good right now, san mateo bridge light towards peninsula from the east bay 92 westbound looking really good a little slow traffic towards the highrise coming off the san mateo bridge, very light towards hayward side of things. san jose northbound 280 past 17 junction at the limit, headlights snaking towards cupertino northbound 280 no problems. a look at your waze app this is 580 out of the central valley westbound, earlier accident at airway in livermore, moderate considering that accident now in the median westbound. you will find a bit of slowing from grant line and tracy up and over the altamont to the scene of the accident then things pick up to the dublin pleasanton interchange. >>> developing traffic-related news from san francisco on-ramp to bay bridge closed after a car crashed into a nearby fire hydrant. amy hollyfield is live with the latest. >> reporter: see the broken scaffolding behind me? that is what police are worried about that's why they've closed this on-ramp, because of the chance this scaffolding could fall and land on

maldonado for the loss of her daughter and her parents. she told us she has no warning a fire has started and she didn't hear any alarms. the families were joined by their family with the rosary. all three died in a fire that destroyed the second floor apartment on bridgeport court in west san jose. cecilia maldonado lost her parents and child in a single night. >> the fire alarm didn't go off. >> she says she tried to save them. >> i know my brother's room was on fire. i ran out and tried to get the fire distinguisher and broke the glass. i couldn't put it out. >> she says kyra decided to sleep in her parents' back bedroom. >> they took care of me and my baby. >> the two-alarm fire started 11:00 p.m. on saturday and was quickly put out by the more than 50 firefighters who responded. two other people were taken to a local hospital as was a san jose police officer who suffered smoke inhalation after rescuing a resident. this man who declined to give his name lived below the apartment. he came by to get what he could salvage. he says he and his girlfriend woke up to screams. >> we freaked o

was captured in kabul. the mission was a nighttime helicopter raid by u.s. special operations forces in a remote area. no u.s. forces died in the raid but several taliban were killed. joseph was beaten severely but will be joining his family and loved ones. >>> tonight, oakland police are trying to find the killer who shot a map to death in broad daylight near jack london square. it happened this afternoon. john alston says the shooting hag raised concerns about growing crime in oakland. >> nearly four hours after the killing, the victim's body was removed in oakland police opened up third street between broadway and franklin. the mid-afternoon shooting took place just a few blocks from the entrance to jack london scare where a lick -- lake merritt resident. >> i feel unsafe in oakland. i'm afraid for my chirp to walk by themselves. i feel like there's -- it's not older, younger, no one is safe. >> the crime scene is four blocks from police headquarters. officers happened to be in the the middle of role school -- roll call and got her quickly. >> police do not believe this was random
driver was racing. abc7 news reporter lilian kim shows us the damage. >> it was quiet in their funeral chapel. a memorial service was just getting underway. he is one of the funeral directors. >> we are about to start a celebration of life for one of our clients. and all of a sudden we heard a loud rumbling sound. >> that rumbling noise was the sound of a 1974 chevy nova crashing into the building and wiping out the front lobby. the 16-year-old driver and his passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and so was a man attending the service. he suffered a broken leg. concord police say all was the result of what appears to have been two 16-year-olds racing. >> the preliminary reports from witnesses suggest there were two cars involved possibly in a speed contest down clayton road with one losing control and ending up in the building behind me. >> those in the funeral home say it could have been worse. most of the people have made their way past the lobby and into the chapel except a few employees who came very close to getting hurt. >> we were in the lobby literally five
weather is turning up the waves in pacifica. that's where kera is with us. good morning. >> good morning. it is windy here and it is a steady, moderate rain as we said it will only get worse as the day pro grosses. moderate right now but steady on our drive from pacifica through san francisco this morning. luckily the people who were on the roads were driving quite slowly, taking heed to the potentially dangerous conditions this morning. things right now in pacifica, the gates are supposed to be open on the pier, we saw a group of about ten crappers hoping to go cracking but they couldn't because the gates were closed. one gentlemen approached us and asked why are the gates closed? our assumption is it is a precaution because the weather will only continue to get worst. the water hasn't exceeded the seawall yet, but chance are they will. we are standing back so we won't get hit by the water. wind is coming from the south instead of the west and that could cause some problems today. but we will have the latest coming up in about 30 minutes. for now reporting live in pacifica, abc7 news. >

to get the power back on. good evening. thank you for joining us. i'm ama dates. we do have team coverage tonight. we begin with meteorologist leigh glaser. leigh? >> this time last night i was telling you that the heaviest part of the storm system was going to hit us about 7:00 this morning. in fact, i went ahead and captured the image of live doppler 7hd. specifically at 7:50 this morning you can clearly see the heaviest part of the storm making its way just over the golden gate bridge indicated by the deep reds and the oranges and the yellows and all of that moisture quickly pushed to the south. here is another shot of it by the way from our satellite-radar composite. live doppler 7hd is not showing any moisture at all out there. yes, it does look like we get a respite tonight and tomorrow, but more rain is in my accu-weather seven-day forecast. we'll get to that a little later. >> leigh, thank you. a huge gaping hole in a roadway is causing major problems for some lafayette residents. abc7 news reporter alan wang is live from the area with what this means for neighbors. alan? >> this
